(536-1) Parent's magazine "awarded" a commendation to Kaiser for its safety features. The original award was for the 1952 Kaiser, but the reprint for advertising illustrates 1953 models. Measures 8 1/2 x 11 inches and I am showing both sides.
(536-2,-3,-4,-5) In earlier versions of this page I referred to this folder for the 1953 Henry J as being published in three versions differing only in the contrast color--salmon (-2) , blue (-3), or green (-4). At the time I had never seen one of the green ones and I was beginning to think I never would. Prior to the KFOCI Convention in Mobile in July 2003 I contacted fellow collector Bonnie Carey and asked her to bring her three examples of this folder to the meet so I could see what the green one looked like in comparison to the blue. Lucky me she showed up with an extra green one which I now own. But she had to punish me a little by showing me a fourth color variation (-5)! I am not sure what to call this new color--light salmon? The pics clearly show the colors carry through all pages and variations are not due to fading. I have no idea why the different versions were printed. Each folder measures 7 3/4 x 6 and opens to 23 1/4 x 6 inches. The three top pics show the first three versions in front, open and back views. The other pics show the salmon and the fourth color variation comparison. The latter pics were taken on the parking lot on Steve and Bonnie Carey's vending table at the Convention.
As of today (August 25, 2003) I now have the fourth color variation. Tom Quirk, fellow KFOCI member, found it for me at Walter Miller's literature shop. He had mentioned he was going to Miller's and volunteered to look for items so I asked him to check for this one. Thanks Tom!
