I have collected various items related to Kaiser-Frazer for many years. In my position as Editor of the Kaiser Frazer Owners Club, Int. Quarterly magazine I had a special interest in the photos issued by the factory in press kits and in general advertising. This CD contains 331 8x10 inch photos in jpeg format at 300 dpi. Each photo is given in a low resolution version for easy viewing and each is also linked to the higher resolution versions. Each low resolution photo is accompanied by a brief written descriptive statement. An ideal arrangement for viewing the CD would be similar to my setup--Internet Explorer 6.x and a 19 inch monitor set to 1024x768 resolution. IE 6 automatically scales the jpegs to fit on screen regardless of the size. For printing and any specialized use a graphics program such as PhotoImpact can be used and the individual pictures can be accessed from the directories on the CD. You may notice quality problems in viewing the photos if the resolution is changed very much from 300 dpi (remember that an 8 x 10 photo at 300 dpi would be 2400 x 3000 dpi). In order to make good prints please print only at 300 dpi! If you are using IE 6 the photos will be automatically scaled to fit your screen but you can click on the symbol that should appear in the lower right corner to expand the photo to full size (it no longer will fit on screen when you do but much greater detail can be seen). It would be almost impossible to collect these photos today and the cost would be prohibitive. I am glad to be able to share this collection with you. I ask only that you respect the investment and labor I put into this project by not copying this CD and by not distributing it in any form. The layout and descriptions are copyright by Ben Walker. Randy Knox sent me a scan of a photo of a 54 Kaiser for this project. Alan Thomas contributed numerous scans from his collection and each is acknowledged on the cd. Jack Mueller, the Kaiser Frazer Owners Club Historian, loaned me over 100 photos from his collection. These are all grouped together in the misc_d through misc_j files and all the pictures are prefixed jm. Jack researched his files for information on each of these photos and also added infomation on some of the photos from my collection. Before I got the photos from Jack I had placed photos into categories as named on the cd and had only three miscellanous files--these may contain cars but major emphasis is on people, places, or events. Rather than attempt to separate Jack's photos I kept them together in miscellaneous files misc_d through misc_j with each photo name prefixed jm. Tom Stradt provided technical help and advice I could not have survived without.A quick check shows the following "inventory" of pictures of various models. Note there are more pics with cars but the cars seemed to be secondary to some other subject. Note also that although there are directories for each model on the CD there are many pics of cars in miscellaneous directories that were added later. 47 Frazer 32; 47 Kaiser 16; 48 Frazer 4; 48 Kaiser 5: 49 Frazer 19; 49 Kaiser 24; 51 Frazer 9; 51 Kaiser 16; 52 Kaiser 8; 53 Kaiser 13; 54 Kaiser 10; 55 Kaiser 1; 51 HJ 20; 52 HJ 9; 53 HJ 3; Allstate 4; IKA 13 (Carabella, Jeeps, etc.); Willys 16; Darrin 22 This CD is priced at $33 plus $2 postage to USA address via surface mail.
