Direct Mail Campaigns

(MISC-4) KF dealers were supplied or had the opportunity to acquire many "tools" to help them sell cars. These are examples of direct mail letters used to get prospects into the showroom. These were produced by a third party supplier but under factory sponsorship. These examples are from 1953 but I have some xerox copies of similar letters from other years as well. These letters are very striking in appearance. I wonder how many dealers actually used them. These samples were given to me by Bonnie and Steve Carey. I would sure like to get some more examples for my collection. Click any of the images above for a "readable" version and see if you would have been attracted to the dealership by the letter.

At the Fall 2003 Midwest Division meet of the KFOCI in Kentucky Larry Barker gave me two new versions of these letters which are posted below. Thanks Larry!

(MISC-5) Here is an example of a direct mail card to promote service--in this case the luster-seal treatment for car finishes. This was most likely a 1949 campaign as suggested by the picture used. I bought this from Bonnie and Steve Carey last Summer at the KFOCI convention in Mobile.
