Our Goal
My personal goal is to build four fray cars that can be competitive at the Fray in Ferndale. [4]
In 2020, I attended the Fray in Ferndale as a observer. It was obvious that everyone has different ideas on how to build a fast fray car. What a fantastic hobby!
The Plan
Search the web looking for articles and information about building fray cars written by experienced fray car builders.
Capturing those words of wisdom on this webpage, giving credit to those who shared their experience.
Some topics and processes have numerous options. On those I plan on searching out experts that will share their solutions and ideas.
Your Job in this project
If you are aware of articles, videos or have knowledge on HOW TO successfully build a fray car, PLEASE share that information with us here at SLOT CAR CRAZY so we can share it with everyone.
2020 Fray in Ferndale Rules:
Preamble: [4]
-These rules are written with the intent of providing a precise specification that will define the cars construction. It is fully expected, and in fact intended, that the racers will adhere to these rules as they design and build their cars. Any breach of these boundaries will result in the car’s disqualification.
-The following rules list what can be done to the car. Anything not listed as allowable, is not allowed. For example: No fillers can be placed in the gap between the three com sections because there is no rule allowing it.
-To support this principle, the tech committee will gladly answer any of the racers’ questions of the rules prior to tech. The voltage for the Fray is 20 volts. The final rules update for the 2022 Fray will be posted in November 2021. Clarifications, if needed, will be dated and posted in Clarifications section below.
