Bill says - "Selecting the
right car for a restoration project is an exciting task but not always
an easy one. It is important to start out with a car in the best
condition as possible." |
This was the
easiest step for us as we are "Kaiser Krazy" and only have one Kaiser
left in our garage. Our garaged Kaiser is a the 1953 Henry J
Corsair Deluxe we
purchased 10 years ago. |
When we
purchased the Henry J it came with a second one and all the parts
from six or seven other HJs which had been disassembled and sorted into
Folgers Coffee cans. At the time we swapped the best of each
part onto this Henry J, sold the second one. After several years of
selling parts one at a time, we sold the remaining stash of parts to
Seth Jones. |
Prior to Bill's Restoration
Seminars, I would have just cleaned up this Henry J and driven it. Now
disassembling this car, restoring every piece and bringing it back
to show room condition seems well within our reach. |

In the summer
of 2005, Kaiser Bill made us an offer we could not refuse for our
1953 Kaiser Manhattan. Bill wanted to put it into his Kaiser Museum. We had driven the Manhattan 18,000
miles over the prior 12 years to more than 25 KFOCI events.
Now with no running Kaiser, the time has come to restore our Henry
J. |
For those of
you with a more difficult decision, Bill's Book offers numerous
hints on where to buy, how to decide on a make and model, and how
much to pay. |
